Donyi-Polo B.Ed College introduced B.A.B.Ed (4-Year Integrated) Programme in the year 2018 and the Degree Programme is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU).
The Integrated Programme of Teacher Education titled “Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Education(B.A.B.Ed)” is a Degree Course. The course will be of four year duration organized on the semester pattern with 2 semesters in a year, i.e.- 2x4 Yrs (8-Semesters). Each semester will consist of 16 weeks of instruction excluding examination.
The four year B.A.B.Ed integrated programme is designed to provide opportunities to students for extending as well as depending their knowledge and understanding of teaching profession and also develop research capacities leading to specialization in school subjects at the secondary stage. The four-year integrated programme of B.A.B.Ed aims at integrating general studies comprising social sciences or humanities (B.A.B.Ed.), and professional studies consisted with foundations of education, pedagogy of school subjects, and practicum related to the tasks and functions of a school teacher. It maintains a balance between theory and practice, coherence and integration amongst components of the programme that rendering a wide range of knowledge-base required of a secondary school teacher. It is expected to equip the aspirants of school teacher with the requisite aptitude & attitude, knowledge and skills to address the challenges of becoming an effective school teacher. The programme aims at preparing teachers for upper Primary and Secondary stages of education.
The four year Integrated B.A.B.Ed programme shall be offered in an environment of composite institutions as defined in clause (b) of NCTE regulations 2, 2014 "composite institutions means a duly recognized higher education institution offering (multiple programs of) undergraduate or post graduate programs of study in the field of liberal arts or humanities or social sciences, as the case may be, at the time of applying for recognition of teacher education programs, or an institution offering multiple teacher education programs”.

Duration
The B.A.B.Ed programme shall be of 4(four) Academic Years, i.e. 8(eight) Semesters including Internship comprised of field based experiences of micro and macro teachings and practicum. Student-Teachers shall, however, be permitted to complete the programme within a maximum period of 6(six) years from the date of admission to the programme. This programme will also be a foundation for those who would like to have done specialization in school subjects for teaching at the senior secondary level as may one be desirous of doing Post-Graduation after successful completion of B.A.B.Ed.
Eligibility
Admission Eligibility into B.A.B.Ed (4-Year Integrated) Course is 50% marks in 10+2 Exam. However, 5% marks will be relaxable to ST/SC/OBC students and will be subjected to an Aptitude Test conducted by college authority comprised of management member(s) & Sr. Faculty Member(s)/ Principal.
Admission Procedure
Intending applicants are to collect the prescribed application forms and prospectus from the college office counter and submit the duly filled-in application form along with attested copies of documents as per Time Schedule provided in the Prospectus. Recommendation for admission may or may not be entertained. Admission of a student to the College will be preceded by parent/guardian's Interview. Failing to personal appearance of student/parent for interview and verification of documents will forfeit admission.
Admission is granted strictly on merit basis, subject to availability of seats. Re-Admission of students to any will depend upon his/her previous year's performance (attendance, discipline, regularity, etc.). In case of serious lapses in attendance, discipline etc. by a student, the Management/Principal can deny Re-Admission to such a student into any course.
Courses/Subject Combination Offered
The Subjects offered under the B.A.B.Ed Programme are English, Elective English, Education, Hindi, Political Science, History and Geography (one paper for honors and 2 paper for pass course), of which there are 3 three compulsory paper for all the students in each semester.
Documents Required for Admission
- Two photocopies with self-attestation of all certificates and mark sheets of all examinations passed till date (class X onwards).
- Migration Certificate in original (for students passed from other then CBSE Board).
- Caste Certificate (2 Xerox Copies).
- Three copies of recent passport size photograph.
- Character Certificate in original from the Head of the Institution last attended.
- Attested copy of School Leaving Certificate (TC) from the Institution last attended.
- Original Gap Certificate or Break Certificate in the form of "AFFIDAVIT" if there is break in studies.
- A proof of the students that he/she was/is in service (for in-service teachers).
Submission of Original Documents
The Admitted students are required to submit all the Original Certificates and Mark-Sheets of all Examinations passed till date (Class-X onwards). Submission of Pass Certificate and Migration Certificate for Registration of migrated students other than CBSE Board are compulsory since admission is subjected to verification by RGU and failing to do so will result in cancellation of Admission.
- Admissions of B.A.B.Ed (4-Year Integrated) 2nd to 8th Semester students will be commenced immediately after the end of their each semester examinations (IF PREVIOUS SEMESTER IS CLEARED).
- Students who have passed or are promoted with back papers can move to the next upper level semesters.
- B.A.B.Ed (4-Year Integrated) 1st Semester students who are declared failed by RGU cannot proceed ahead to the next semester and they will not be re-admitted in DONYI-POLO B.Ed COLLEGE.
Documents Required for Re-Admission
- Attested copy of Mark-Sheets of previous examinations passed.
- Attested copy of University Registration Card.
- Two (2) copies of recent passport-size photograph dressed in college uniform with name and class written at the back of it.
Honours Subject(s)
Students admitted to B.A.B.Ed (4-Year Integrated) programme have to select one Honours Subject from 1st Semester onwards. The Honours Subject consists of two papers for each semester including two optional papers and three compulsory papers.
INTERNAL ASSESSMENTS
Under the Semester System, students will have internal assessments done in each semester (one common examination of 3 (three) hours followed by preparations and paper presentation). This is compulsory and a student failing to secure a minimum of 8 marks for each subject or absence in the same will find himself/herself debarred of automatically from the end semester examination.
