Donyi-Polo B.Ed College has been functional since 2015-16 initially with Recognition from NCTE for B.Ed (2-Yrs) Programme, which has, also subsequently, been Affiliated to RGU in 2015-16 itself. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) of 2-Year's Programme (4-Semesters) has been made compulsory under NEP (National Education Policy) for Teachers to teach students at the Secondary Stages. Hence, BEd Degree qualifies the Student-Trainees to work as School Teacher.

The B.Ed Programme shall be of two academic years (4-Semesters) including internship. (field based experiences and practice teaching). Student-trainees shall, however, be permitted to complete the programme within a maximum period of 4 years from the date of admission to the programme.

Eligibility

Admission Eligibility into B.Ed (Two years) Course is any Graduate from a Recognized Indian Universities with 50% marks (General) & 45% marks for ST/SC/OBC in Degree Exam passed. However, students will be subjected to an Aptitude Test conducted by college authority comprised of Management Member(s) & Sr. Faculty Member(s)/ Principal. Conformation of admission will be subjected to student’s clearance of RGUET conducted by RGU with documentary proof.

Admission Procedure

Intending applicants are to collect the prescribed application forms and prospectus from the college office counter and submit the duly filled-in application form along with attested copies of documents as per Time Schedule provided in the Prospectus. Recommendation for admission may or may not be entertained. Admission of a student to the College will be preceded by parent/guardian's Interview. Failing to personal appearance of student/parent for interview and verification of documents thereof will forfeit admission. Admission is granted strictly on merit basis, subject to availability of seats.

Courses/Subject Combination Offered

The Subjects offered under the B.Ed Programme are Perspectives in Education and Pedagogy Papers of school curriculum are being selected from 2nd-Semester onwards followed by practicum and internship.

Documents Required for Admission

  1. Two photocopies with attestation of all certificates and mark sheets of all examinations passed till date (class x onwards).
  2. Registration card (for the students passed from Rajiv Gandhi University 2 xerox copies).
  3. Migration Certificate in original (for students passed from other University/State)
  4. Caste Certificate (2 Xerox Copies).
  5. Three copies of recent passport size photograph.
  6. No Objection Certificate (for in-service teachers).
  7. A proof of the students that he/she was/is in service (for in-service teachers).

Submission of Original Documents

The admitted students are required to submit all the Original Certificates and Mark-Sheets of all examinations passed till date (Class-X onwards). Submission of Pass Certificate and Migration Certificate for Registration of migrated students other than RGU are compulsory since admission is subjected to verification by RGU and failing to do so will result in cancellation of admission.
  1. Admission to B.Ed 2nd, 3rd & 4th Semester students will be commenced immediately after the end of their EACH semester examinations (IF SEMSTER IS CLEARED).
  2. Students who have passed or are promoted with back papers will move-up to next upper semesters.
  3. B.Ed (2-Year) 1st Semester students who are declared failed by RGU cannot proceed ahead to the next semester and they will not be re-admitted in DONYI-POLO B.Ed COLLEGE.

Documents Required for Re-Admission

  1. Attested copy of Mark-Sheets of previous examinations passed.
  2. Attested copy of University Registration Card.
  3. Two (2) copies of recent passport-size photograph dressed in college uniform with name and class written at the back of it.

INTERNAL ASSESSMENTS

Under the Semester System, students will have internal assessments done in each semester (one common examination of 3 (three) hours and paper preparation and presentation). This is compulsory and a student failing to secure a minimum of 8 marks for each subject or absence of the same will find himself/herself debarred a student automatically from the end semester examination.
